Just a little advice due to our instructions not beibg fully completed yet.
If you wish to delete a photograph or edit a title you need to log into the site first.
The login icon is situated in the top left hand corner of the album page. Once you login the edit/delete option will become available on your album.

One thing that might help is to make that "log-on" button more obvious. It comes up on my screen as black letters on dark grey, and the type size is very small. Both the size and color scheme can be improved.

We're still working over the interface details.

What is the sort sequence used to display photos in an album?
I added layout photos in the order it was built and the album is displayed in a different sequence.
I edited all the images by adding a sequence number to the titles, but that didn't seem to change the display sort sequence.

Gerry,
I'm not sure myself but they seem to appear randomly I will try and find out or maybe Mike can answer the question for you.

We have a problem that the option applies to both album and pic files but we want the albums to remain alphabetical order.
i'll let Mike take a look at the problem

I click on the "uploadable album icon, but get NO edit/delete option, just an asterisk under each photo in my album.
I click on my name icon, and get the same thing.
There is NO edit button in the upper left corner of ANY window I can find in railimages.
I need to delete one, it will save space.

That "Log-In" button is in the upper right corner. It is still very difficult to see, however. It comes up black on white, and in a very small type size. It really should be almost as obvious as the orange ball.

We are going to work all of that over in the not too distant future and hopefully be able to replace those small links with some buttons or something more obvious.
For now, everyone just needs to be aware of how it works.

There is NO "login button in the top right corner either!
All that is there is:
"HOME||RANDOM||UPLOAD||VIEW RECENT UPLOADS"
I can not find anywhere to "login" unless I add a photo, and all I want to do is DELETE one!
I even put my reading glasses on and used a magnifing glass. Jan could not find one either and she still has 20-20.

I uploaded a photo and then posted it in the "New Adventure" thread a couple of days ago. It was ok there that day, but when I came back the next day there was only a box with an "X" in it where the photo should have been. I sent an e-mail to Paul and he told me that when I uploaded the photo, it went to the homepage (?*) And that he moved it to my album. He also said all I needed to do was "fix the link". So I went back into my album and copied the Properties and posted it back into the thread, which because I forgot to use the "image" button to post it, came out as an link address. So I went back and tried it through the "image" button but it still will not display the photo. I don't know what to do now! Any suggestions? smile.gif

Now there is a RED LOGIN button up in the left hand corner!
Thanks Charlie, I was able to delete the stray photo.
Is the red button going to stay, or is that just so I could see it this time?
You should keep it for everyone!
Now delete all my desperate posts above, it will be clear according to the instructions. Thanks again Charlie!

Charlie or Paul,
I don't have a 'link' for the photo. It is on my C-drive.
I have tried to recapture the photo by deleting it from my Trainimages folder and re-uploading it. Then I tried to download it to Trainboard. You can check out the resulting failure by visiting "New Adventure."
Maybe it has something to do with the "Log in"? A member has to log in upon first entering Trainimages, and again before browsing for what photo he/she wishes to upload .. or am I mistaking about that?

Bill,
I had a look in the new adventure topic and was unable to find the link. A member can go staight to the upload page and upload a pic, this will automatically log you into the site.
You can also go to the login page for editing your pics.

Bill, the photo is there in your Trainimages album. I looked at the source code in your message under "new adventure" and it has a link to an img, but there is no title for the img. It reads something like IMG SRC="", and there is no title between the two sets of quotation marks. I LIKE that photo and wish it was displayed. I think if you go back to the message and edit it, create another IMG link and put the title of the photo in there, it will show up. ;)

Bill, Yesss. The portrait of Pancho and Lefty is baaaack. Is it my imagination, or does Pancho have a bigger boiler diameter than
Lefty?

I have a copy of the builders' plans for both Jim and they are the same. I would suspect that Pancho's boiler looks larger because it is a little closer to the camera. I believe it is called parallax. smile.gif

OK. I registered, logged i, set up an album (I thought),
looked with the new albums so I could up-load a picture, but I can't find the album anywhere.
Now I can't even find a way to get back to the "New Albums". or any others for that matter.
I seem to be logged on because there was arecognition of
my name - sort of welcome. But I can't find how to do anything with albums.
Totally frustrated ,

Ray,
I see no album matching "Stilwell"
You exchanged e-mails with Paul about registering? Regestering on RailImages is not automated.
The new albums are on the last page of RailImages, presently page 12.
When did you register on RailImages?

Charlie,
I saw an album that had the images segregated into sub-albums. How do you do that? I have well over 300 images on my album, and trying to find a certain one is tough when I have to go thru 10 pages...

All members who donate $20 or more are given the option to create their own subalbums. Once you have donated all you need to do is apply to Charlie

A big thanks to Charlie and the Rail Images crew for the ability, with donation of course, to separate the album into nested sub-albums.
That cut my 300+ image album to 9 albums, and other sub-albums--making it immensely more user-friendly!
The slideshow is also a neat touch.

Hemi,
You will notice your album only says 9 items now? You might want to change your description to indicate you have 9 albums full of pics.

I've got a note on the front page, saying that now. The rest of the albums need a note in them saying what's in 'em.
Thanks for the heads-up!!
