That's a pretty nifty way of compressing without the effort or if you have a lot of images...

www.ulead.com (http://www.ulead.com) makes some super utilities for compression. Try the 30 version. SL

I like to go here... http://www.netmechanic.com/accelerate.htm
for reducing my image file size...

I don't know what is meant my "compress"... I do know at net mechanic, they remove several color pix, reducing the file size... ie, instead of there being 485 colors on a picture (for example) it will eliminate un-needed colors to, your choice of anything from 2% to 75-85%, or around 325 color-pix I choose no more than 38% reduction...

Is this compression? or is that another method of speeding up images?

I use my MGI Photo Suite which lets me compress jpeg by what ever percentag I decide on. File size changes dramatically and I can cut by 50% and not see any real change in the quality of the picture
