To post sample HTML on here, like:

<IMG SRC="http://www.trainboard.com/trainboard.gif">

place ampersandlt; where the < symbol should be, and ampersandgt; where the > symbol should be. Obviously, the ampersand should be replaced with the & symbol. When you reply to a post like this, the html will convert to the actual html code, and in the case of the example, a TrainBoard graphic will be included. Of course, your mileage may vary.

What he means is, when you want to show how to do html on the board, you can't just put &ltimg src...etc.&gt for the &lt simbol you type: & lt, or & gt for the &gt simbol, (but with out the space between & and lt for showing purposes only)

Exactly right. The problem with trying to teach someone html on the web is that your browser wants to interpret the html and do what it's told to do. In order to fake out the browser and display html code without letting it execute the code is to use special characters to represent the code. That way, instead of executing the code, it interprets the characters so that what is displayed looks like html, but really isn't. Long story short, the next time you need to tell someone how to post a photo or anything else with html commands, by using this technique you can show them the exact way to type it in the TrainBoard box. Oh, and don't forget to put the semi-colon after the character string.
