How many roads did that merged into CSX provided GP40's for the roster (and name the roads)!

Just off the top of my head,

B&O
C&O
Chessie?
Seaboard? I don't know when the merger was so i don't know maybe some early GP40s...

I know there's probably 5 more! http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif

Hey Chessie,

Now, this is a tricky question. Only Seaboard, Chessie, and Conrail were merged into CSX, so that would be the answer. If you want predecessor roads, that would be tricky. ACL/SAL, B&O, C&O, WM, the list goes on, plus Conrail's predecessors.

Hey, I wanted the question to be interesting http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif Why don't we try and name ALL of the roads, including the predecessor roads?

Keep those answers comin'!

Well Chessie, I'm a 200% fan of Conrail http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif, but since the 1st of june 1999 a part of it went to some obscure company http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif and now I have to buy and learn about the locomotives of that company as well.

wrong again, #7761 was on engine-time to Norfolk Southern and the two Norfolk Southern trains collided. http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif

That's a relief, except they may get one of those big black things to cruise around in in the meantime http://www.trainboard.com/frown.gif

As far as the quiz, I guess I need to make up an answer http://www.trainboard.com/confused.gif Here is what I have as original and later owners: ACL, SAL, B&O, C&O, WM, RF&P, A&WP, GARR, WRA. These units later in life belonged to SCL, SBD, CSX, and Chessie System. I am not sure if they received any CR units, but I am thinking not. If there are any that I left out, be sure to tell me http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif
