Well worth waiting for Alan. As a Western fan I particularly enjoyed the Paddington shots complete with period trainspotters :D
Here in Cheshire we were lucky enough to see daily visits by ex-LMS,NER and GWR locos....Almost as good as London :D :D
Chester General station was one of only two places in England where trains bound for London regularly departed in opposite directions. The Western route to Paddington via Shrewsbury and the Midland route to Euston via Crewe. I believe the other place was Exeter.
Look forward to seeing more from the AC Archives.
John.

Thanks John, it was indeed Exeter St. David's where trains to London departed in opposite directions, (SR & WR). I have lots of photographs taken there in 1963, I think, which will be in a future update.
