Hey Drew, looks like you finally got it going on here! How is your layout coming? Did you ever take any photos? It has probably been too cold to get to the basement. It has been too cold and wet here to do much on my layout either. I was looking for a couple of books out in my storage shed, and ran across another bos packed with probably another 15 or 20 of my dad's engines, so I am going to stop work and take a quick look-see. I really want to see what there is, yet it is sorta hard on me to look at them now that dad is gone. I hope they have survived storage all these years.

Can anyone tell me when Wisconsin Central was formed, please?

Hi Alan,

Well, that's actually not as easy a question to answer as you may think. It's either 1871 or 1987  depending on how you look at it. Ron Kohlin has a short history from it's original formation until it was merged into The Soo Line in 1961 by the Canadian Pacific (who owned both the Wisconsin Central Railway and The Soo Line.)

Then in 1987 The Soo Line (owned by CP but still operated as The Soo Line) sold most of it's Wisconsin trackage to the newly created Wisconsin Central Limited.

Watash,
Yeh, I took pictures of the layout a couple months ago, but they never turned out. Otherwise, I haven't been down by it for a while. I'm going to wait until all my cats are gone before I go back down and try to rebuild the mess they made. I have been out takin' pictures of the CP and UP here in Milwaukee. I should have those posted this weekend. And it is getting warmer...wait a minute, just when I thought it was getting nicer up here in Wisconsin, I look out my window and see SNOW

Alan, hopefully yank helped ya out, but I may be able to get to the bottom of your question if you still have one smile.gif
