I saw something today I don't recall seeing before... they appeared to be military "containers" that were very short (8x8x8) and strapped to the back of a tractor trailer going down the road. I did catch a few quick pictures if anyone is interested.
Are these common? They appear constructed like 40' wrinkle side Int'l containers, only they were about 8' long! It also appeared that they had HVAC units on top.

Any ideas????

Heck, I was hoping someone would ask! http://www.trainboard.com/wink.gif
(Don't expect too much from someone trying to take pictures with a digital camera while driving 60mph)

Chessie, they look like standard "conex" boxes to me. Because of the need to do air, sea , and overland shipping rapidly the military uses a standardized container, then puts in a kit for whatever they need it to do. There could be an office or a repair unit or a kitchen or ? in there. That's my guess. HAPPY HOLIDAYS Bobby
