I don't mean to be redundant, because I asked this same question up in the Amtrak section, but anyone have some info on why the Bombardier wheelsets are having so much trouble?

Chris,

My understanding is that the problem with the Bombardier wheelsets is the result of a calculation problem in the preliminary design process that went undetected until Amtrak began testing. I don't know what the "current" status of the Bombardier wheelsets is, though.
