Transit in the Dallas Area

Hello there,

I just returned from a business trip in Dallas, TX. This metro are is starting to become a major transit center. DART Light Rail is very successful with extensions north and south and a totally new line east-west under construction. The Trinity Railway Express is now extended to Richland Hills with a stop near D/FW airport. Fort Worth is looking into building a vintage streetcar line, and then there is the Tandy subway there.

While in Dallas I saw two mistakes by operators. On the Trinity Line I saw a train overshoot the Centerport (D/FW) station and had to back up. On the Tandy Subway, an operator forgot to switch the poles at the one end of the line. The forward pole pulled down the trolley wireby station 3 and the pole broke off of the springs. (It is possible that the pole just didn't come down all the way, but I would guess not).

I have added many new photos to my website (including Dallas and Fort Worth) to my website. I now have over 500 transit and railroad photos to look at from around the world!
