BC Rail has had a mechanical failure with the Ex-CPR 3716 Consolidation again! I isn't actually BCR or the Maintance People's fault in regard to this failure. The engine just got worn down after alot of running this season and needed some work. While the consolidation is down West Coast Rail Heritage Association is lending BC Rail one of the FP7 units painted in the CPR maroon and grey (for fans of the CPR its BLOCK LETTERING). The unit preforms semi-well, it just has trouble with 13 cars on the .7% grade it has to clime for 300-400 meters.

Ridership was good this year, and I think even with out the Hudson in service most people were very happy with their expierence on "The BC Rail Squamish Steam Train Excursion" a.k.a "The BC Rail Diesel F unit excursion" aka "The BC Rail Vintage Coach Train" (when it was a yard engine pulling the train.

Happy Railroading!
