Aaarrrgggghhhh!!!! They patched over the lights on that one, too!
I really wish NS would stop that. When repainted black, those red lights look absolutely awesome.

Here's another.... a southbound freight pulling through downtown Thomasville... it was stopped under the signals for an extended period of time... I was about to take pictures when a city policeman and town worker drove up and made him move the train (apparently he was blocking crossings  )

Drew,
Thanks for the positive comments, but I readily admit that I am not THE MAN. tongue.gif I enjoy sharing my photos with all railfans and enjoy their (your) comments about the same. With the advent of the Internet, this is one hobby where railfans (or modelers) definately don't need to feel secluded and can readily interact with others. I enjoy sharing my pictures with others. As a photographer/railfan, I admit everyone gets lucky now and then, and maybe I did did with the past set of photos.
I really enjoy your signature line, because as a railfan, I can hear a train horn miles away, but sometimes cannot hear others talking to me at the same table

the old b23 looks pretty well done for. NS will most likely retire most of them this summer. Oh well, just more to my A&A :D

Nice shots Chessie. Looks like my neck of the woods. I enjoy the spot in front of TFI cause you get a clear/ deep shot with the signals. If i was more computer literate i could share some of my Thomasville shots with you all. Keep up the quality work....

It has been making the rounds lately... I actually railfanned the line today from Greensboro to Concord and saw very little action.... I think today was track maintenance day as I did see a bunch of crews on the line

Len,
Great shots from High Point... I wonder if anyone else knows about High Point or why it was named that?

Wow Len!,
Those shots are great. I have never taken Black & White, although my new digital camera has an option for that. (Seeing as I have been taking some NS pictures lately, I might as well revert to Black & White  )

I finally got a good pic of an NS "unpainted" or primered? engine. Do they still not have the time to paint them or what? This siting was on the old Conrail Dearborn Division by Midwest Steel near Chesterton, Indiana. There are still some of these going through each week. Still a lot of different sites to see all the trains you want and photograph them. graemlins/097.gif

Hi SSJim,
I think Norfolk Southern is receiving the new locos in primer to speed up the delivery process, then cycling them through their shops in Chattanooga (SP?) TN. I tried to get a picture (again) of one, but it was very shy. I ended up taking a picture of it while it was about to cross over a highway overpass (above me). Not the best viewpoint, but all I could get :(
