Been railfanning during the Blizzard here in the northeastern US since I didn't have any classes, and got some really nice shots. Go to Capital District Railfanning (http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm) for the whole story.

Great Photos on your Capital District link, too!
Is that a REAL Caboose? I guess the train make-up crew in the yard forgot that cabeese used to go on the rear of trains :D

Does the D&H(CP) still use cabeese (or vans)?

D&H still uses cabeese on several local runs. Corey's picture is of SC-1 that serves the Colonie Mainline between Kenwood Yard (Albany) and Mechanicville. The territory sometimes requires long back-up moves and the conductor likes his space. Other locals based at Voorheesville, Saratoga, Ft. Edward and Plattsburg have cabeese assigned as well. There are D&H, CP Rail and a Napierville Junction car in service.

Wasn't there an article several years ago about the conductors could lease or buy caboose of their choice for bad weather? I think it was when the EOT equipment got started.
