I seem to recall that some SOO SD60's made it up to canada. I think one came as far as Calgary, although deep within the recesses of my brain, I thought one came out to
Vancouver, in Port Coquitlam. Is my memory tricking me, what's the scope anyone?

I myself am not sure rsn48 . About the only CP power that I see are SD40's . Last night on my train , which was train #503 , a CP detour train on the CN had the CP6044 in the lead and the CP5918 trailing .
I believe that those are SD40's . They are rated for 3,000HP each . I am not a expert on CP locomotives redface.gif . Just letting you know that I don't really see a wide variety of CP units .

Most of the SOO SD60s either stay on the SOO or are assigned to the Eastern network, formerly the StL&H. We get them quite often on the D&H out of Montreal.

Apparently one or two were assigned to the Port Coquitlam yard in BC. I have talked to some one who has seen pictures of it. Also, my son informs me he spotted one last march when we took VIA to Jasper, Alta.

Those infamous SOO SD60(M)s do wander from time to time.
Mainly in the east, they were reassigned to Toronto for maintenance, not sure if that is the case now. They have been in use (alot) on the former STLH lines.
Sometimes match sets of SD60's can be found operating with no CP (proper) power. Have photographed them that way countless times.

Wandering engines are good for model railroaders, as they can be included in ops sessions without cheap excuses....lol.

Yes the do overlap the CP SD40-2's at some point they are going to have to be renumbered.

The SOO Line SD60s are about 50% based in Canada, and the other 50% are still with SOO. They are still in SOO colours and are kept out of Toronto. Until about 8 months ago they are common to see out as far west as Vancouver, BC as they were regular power on alot of mixed traffic.
Happy Railroading!
