This post is late, but still interesting.
While the Consolidation 3716 (Back up for BC Rail's 2860) was chartered a CPR F unit from WCRA came and did the honours of being the back up unit. It looked great, but now lets get to the running. The thing broke every second day! Not only that we were late every single day! Sure, she looks good with the BCR tuscan coaches, and her in the CPR paint brings back memories for people that saw the real Canadian, but geez, this was ridiculous! I was about ready to walk to the yard, get a C44-9ME and pull the thing back!!
Over all it was nice to see on the train, but they should have sectretly taken the F off when we left, and stuck on a C44-9ME http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif lol
Happy Railroading!!
