My wife just called to let me know what a beautiful Canadian Pacific diesel engine she had just seen while waiting at one of the local crossings in Winona, MN USA. She said that it looked new by the bright red paint and that the Beaver emblem was in gold. She was so excited about just watching it that she could not give me any details. Going to get her a spotters guide for her car. Now, after all of that, a question. If she had taken the engine's road number is there a way to then determine what model it was http://www.trainboard.com/confused.gif? We're new at this so be gentle http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif.

I just had her look at the photos you suggested and she thinks that was it. She is going to be on the lookout for it and will try to note more detail. Thanks very much for your help http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif. Oh, for a digital camera http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif!

Yep, I'd hazard a AC4400CW, too. They're treading that stretch of track from all accounts. IIRC these are actually allocated to Soo Line.

I think that it could ONLY be an AC4400CW, and now there are 3 people agreeing, so it is safe to say that in all likelly hood that yes, it is a

AC4400CW

4400HP

Happy Railroading!
