Nice shots, Harold. I would love to encounter this beast on one of my infrequent visits over there!
I have seen lots of photographs and video footage of DD40X's, but I expect you need to see one 'in the flesh' to appreciate the size of them http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif

You are correct Alan. The sight of a 4 axle truck was really interesting. I was able to get close and personal, because there was no railfans around and it was on a track that was next to the road.

I wish one of these DD40's would show up on one of my pilgrimages to Butler Yard. They sure are big!
I also liked your photos, and your web page. Nice layout and locomotive roster!

Very cool Harold! The DD40 is a favorite of mine. I even bought 2 of them in N Scale (Bachman - ugh! http://www.trainboard.com/smiles/011.gif )
It's nice to see the pictures. Now, if we could just talk you in to a TrainBoard.com link on your web site! http://www.trainboard.com/smiles/097.gif

Unfortunately, there is only one of them. Of course the bright side of this is that it won't ever be retired.
