Here is an article (http://trains.com/Content/Dynamic/Articles/000/000/000/428omdok.asp) at Trains.com (http://www.trains.com) about the progress that CN has made with its intermodal transportation. It seems they have taken a page out of the trucking business and now offer delivery schedules of intermodal traffic at Truck Speed. They streamlined 24 hours off their Toronto to Vancouver route.
The more that I learn about CN and its business, the more I like it.

I suspect one of the reasons for the improved time is the shared trackage with Canadian Pacific through Fraser Canyon here in British Columbia. East now runs on one side and west on the other, regardless of company. There is more talk of trackage sharing which will even speed up more traffic.

I am sure pleased to hear that CN is going after business instead of waiting for business to come to them. It's a changing world and only the strong will survive.

CN now runs a Roadrailer train and the crew out of Port Huron runs the train all the way to Chicago . Over 300 miles , takes almost 12 hours . I did it in 10 . Usually only handles 12 to 15 cars per nite and only 1 unit

Out of Port Huron Bry , trains that come out of Canada , and head west towards Chicago , CN runs alot of Intermodal traffic and with the BN merger likely going to happen someday , there will be more .
Everyday these are just the Intermodal trains that run alone . Keep in mind this is everyday .
