Is there a reason that BNSF power appears on the UP in California?

It is not uncommon to find antoher railroad's power on their rails. This is done frequently today on run-through and jointly-run trains. Also, UP and BNSF have trackage rights with each other in some locations. Another thing could be the last few BNSF trains detouring from the Arizona derail. So now you know why foreign power shows up on other roads. Happens all the time.
