heres a link to a pic of 1991 in HII paint. Ok, for some reason I cant drag the link in here and it wont let me copy paste it either. If you email me I will send it to you. By the way, how do you put a link or pic in here?

No probs, Ed. http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif
Let's keep the chat about SD60M's in Horrortage paint to a minimum, please. I'm still in mourning http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif
Gary.
In mourning for the beloved BN since 1996.

I wonder if the 9297 (SD60M)has been repainted like this as well. In my personal opinion they should adopt this as their offical paint scheme and paint everything from the SD 9's to the newest locomotives in this scheme. only thing though is that orange paint is fading really bad. Unfournately I to hate to Sante Fe and BN colors dwindle but long live H 2!

i thought the 1991 and the 9297 were the same engine.am i wrong?if so cool i will now be painting up a 9299 to run with my 1991.seems a fitting tribute to one of my most favorite engines.once again thanks to alll for the sd60m h2 links(especially for the 9299).i only wish the bnsf would have stayed true to their word on not repainting special painted engines such as the 1991 and the vommit bonnet

The different fades make for some really interesting color mixes though!
Which unit was the vomit bonnet? http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif
I hope it's not 9647! I really like that engine!

BNSF 9647 is the dreaded "vommit bonnet". Of course, I like this locomotive!

Ed,
Ironically enough their not the same engine. I took pictures of both locomotives within a week of each other in the Galesburg yard. The 9297 is the test bed scheme for the Hertitage I. One side has a solided red pinstripe and the other side has a 2 pinstripe in red. As far as know it is still painted this way. The 1991 was the victory train in desert storm. Now it is repainted 9299.

While i don't live 'right next to the tracks', it's only a 10 minute drive to check out the ex BN yard, the ex DRGW North Yard and the still UP ? yard...
I usually see a train everyday! http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif
