View Full Version : LRCX Lease Locomotives

When we were in Bakersfield, and later in Mojave, we saw a LRCX C30-7, with a logo on the lower cab side, showing a lay-back biker!

Looking at pictures, they all seem to have a different logo, Moose, deer, etc.

Does anyone know the origin of these? And how many different ones there are? Any information would be gratefully received. This has been puzzling me ever since http://www.trainboard.com/confused.gif

Alan, You are not alone! Those LRCX lease units have everyone puzzled! The locomotives are all GEs, mostly the C30-7 models, but they also have B36-7s too. I have been told that the painter at the "Livingston Rebuild Center", (LRCX), is responsible for the various logos. And I also hear there are no two alike. It is up to his mood that day, whatever strikes his fancy!

This is a response to a similar question, posted elsewhere

"We put roughly 100 different logos on our Lease Locomotives. Most of them
are western style and the reason for it was to make all of the locomotives
individual. Our owner felt as each locomotive had its own personality, they
might as well look different."
