Hi Gil. Nice looking units. Is that SP depot still there in Redding? I worked there as relief Telegrapher and Agent for a few weeks.

The depot is still here and was recently repaired and painted by some volunteers with UP permission.

Nice shots, JT. I wish I was able to go with you on that field trip, but work keeps getting in the way.

Thanks to Gil for posting those.
The Airtrain is an 8 mile line between Jamaica, NY and JFK airport and down to a connection with the "A" subway line in Howard Beach.
It's amazing, clean, heavily staffed, and a total waste of 2 billion dollars.
The first photo shows some of the cars in the yard at the airport.
The second photo shows a few holding tracks for the LIRR at Jamaica.
If anyone asks, I can send a few more to Gil to post.

I see Gil was kind enough to post some more of that day's shots in RailImages.
(see page 9)
The most interesting shots are the subway ones, namely B'way Jct in East New York, Brooklyn. What a maze of EL's and there's even one more line underground below that whole mighty complex!
And of course the one taken at Howard Beach with a dozen signals in a row is especially for Gil!
