These cooling fans, are they mounted on an EMD or an Alco locomotive?

I am going to have to go with Alco. Most of the EMD fans that I have viewed are more flush than these.

Hmmm. Those look like the 36" cap-top fans many 1st and early 2nd Generation EMD units (E's, F's, GP/SD-7/9/20/30/35) came with. The hood throws me, though....it doesn't look very EMD-ish. My guess is that they're EMD fans installed on an Alco, as one of those funky repowering projects (like Conrail's RS-3m's).

Yeah, I'll second that. They're definatly EMD fans, though they probably got stuck on somthing different. It happens, or more to the point, did happen. I know Morrison Knutsen did a bunch of repowerings like that.
