Yeah, that would be the view out my window if I had trains in my backyard! We have 10 inches on the ground and 6-10 more inches on the way. I'm VERY tempted to build a garden railway just so I can have a working rotary plow!

Yes but in Bellingham, once the rain starts, the snow is gone. Now in Maine....lol. The only thing I think that could improve the picture would be to have two CP SD90's in front with the golden rodents on them.

Barb, that's a beautiful photo ... and thanks, but we really don't need a "cool breeze" down here on the Gulf Coast. I keep telling people that I left New Hampshire after I finally understood what the Weather Forecasters meant by "Still and Clear" .... "Still" snowing and "Clear" up to your tailbone! :D :D

The rain stops? No it doesn't, it just changes phase. Right now we're in the middle of the annula northwest Washington rain festival. which runs from January first to December 31st every year! The snow is starting to melt here which has it's moments too. Last night I was laying in bed when a 10 pound snowball let go from the branch it was resting on and fell on the roof over my bed. Talk about an interesting noise!

Ah the joys of winter. We are down to about 15 degrees here in Reno tonight. Lucky the roads are dry. We are expecting a storm in here on Friday. Donner has a good snow pack this year but the rotaries haven't been called upon yet. Sparks yard still has snow all over the place. Those frosty rails make it harder to start and stop trains. Yes the joys of clear cold winter days. But then that is why I left the California central valley. Cold damp and foggy....
