I belong to a whole bunch of restoration groups, mostly from afar, as I'm not close enough to help out with the work. Got a newsletter from the Pueblo Locomotive and Rail Historical Society, restoring the Santa Fe 4-8-4 2912, stating that they have been invited to bring the locomotive to a big railfair in Baltimore in 2003. This provides a lot of incentive to complete the restoration. Superheater tubes have just been removed, so there is a lot of work to be done. Any of you guys on the east coast heard anything about this? We can only dream that the 2912 would be finished, get permission to run on BNSF and make it back there. Great thought, eh?
