Anyone living near Toronto or visiting can go north to a little town called Tottenham. Here you will find the South Simcoe Railway. There are two steam locomotives in operation one of which is a 4-4-0. The line passes through the rolling hills of the scenic Beeton Creek Valley. Transportation is in restored 1920's coaches. This all takes place on rails of a century-old branchline that once connected Hamilton with Barrie and Collingwood. It is owned and operated by the South Simcoe Railway Heritage Corporation, a non-profit volunteer-run historical organization. It is a fun ride http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gifand operates on Sundays and also on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during July and August.
