In many towns (at least in the U.S.) there is some sort of railroad equipment on display. In my hometown in Kansas, Santa Fe Steam Engine 1880 is on display in a downtown park. (A picture is available at http://parkengines.railfan.net/KS/images/pages/ATSF1880.html - I do not have permission to post the actual photo on this site.) Many other towns in Kansas have a steam engine on display in a park and many small towns have a caboose on display.
It would be interesting to hear about railroad equipment on display in your area and a picture posted if possible.
These monuments to yesterday would make great topics of discussion.
