Photopoint has recently changed the layout and appearance of its homepage and all the other pages on its web site and ever since, I have been unable successfully to go through the process of uploading photos.

Has anyone else had trouble?

I'm a Webtv user and I relied on Photopoint a lot. It really bothers me that they keep changing their formats like they do. I haven't had any problems loading pictures yet, but it really sucks that the did away with most of their editing tools.

Do members know of any other photo uploading and hosting services similar to Photopoint on the WWW that I could try as an alternative if Photopoint continues to be problematic?

Nobody likes change but remember changes often happen because people ask for them. Thats what happened at Photopoint. While it does look like a lot of changes, it is still the same. I prefer it now because it seems to work faster. Change always takes a short time to get used to. I will still use photopoint because it works and is reliable. Why go anywhere else?

I WANT TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE WASTING HOURS AND HOURS OF MY FREE TIME AND ACHIEVING NOTHING, THATS WHY!

I have found details of another couple of sites, www.photofun.com (http://www.photofun.com) and www.zyworld.com (http://www.zyworld.com) which I may try tonight at home if I get time; then members will be able to see some images of my G3 live steam 0-6-0T loco.

I do not use photopoint, as I don't like the banner at the top of the pics. So I upload all my pics to a Homestead wesite, and link to them, with no banner smile.gif

I am just a user of photopoint and I don't promote it in any sense but just give my opinions from time to time. Good luck to you all as whoever gives you the right to post pictures at no cost, has to put ads, banners etc. to make money. Nothing is really free. Do whatever makes you happy. I am sure wherever you go you will face changes of one sort or another from time to time.

I have no end of problems with Homestead, Alan. Obviously it uses invasive software to check if you have any filters/firewalls in place.
I use AtGuard and whenever I go to any Homestead sites, I need to kill it in order to view them lest I want a blank page with the Homestead logo at the bottom.

Gary.

Gary, I don't use Homestead for websites, because of the problems you mention. But I now use the 'spare' webspace to store photos for posting here :D

I have had a few problems with the new PhotoPoint, but they seem to be fixed now. There is no perfect site, but, in my opinion, PhotoPoint has done better that any of the other sites I have checked. I tested the pictures I have posted on Trainboard soon after the PP change and found all the links worked as before.
