I just read on Altamont Press that O. Winston Link died of a heart attack Tuesday at the age of 86. One of the truly great railroad photographers has left us.

What a sad day! That guy was the Ansel Adams of RR photography.
If you want to learn about lighting, just study his photos, he really knew how to paint with light!

A great loss to RR photography. O. Winston Link was the original night-shot king.
Does anyone know if the legal wrangle over his older photographs was ever finalised? I believe it had something to do with a divorce settlement.

Gary.
