Though not train related, for those interestd I have put together a page with a few shots of the 2001 New Year's fireworks displays held in Sydney, Oz. The page is around 800K so will load slowly on slow connections. Enjoy!

Thanks Gary, we were fortunate enough to get TV coverage of the fireworks in Sydney as well as some other places around the world. The Sydney fireworks were the best. Congratulations to Sydney for their great effort

Thanks Robin. It's nice the hear that the fireworks displays from around the world were televised throughout.
Well, that's 3 major fireworks displays in 12 months - 2000 NYE, the Olympic closing, and 2001 NYE - all different and exciting. The 2000 NYE show weighed in at 26 mins! http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif

What a team!!!! Gary + Coolpix http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif
Gary, those are superb! Does the camera work out the settings, exposure time, etc. or are you just an expert? http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif

Thanks, Alan, I'm just an expert... LOL http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif
Seriously, I set it up in manual which gives me a choice of P(rogramme), A(perture), or S(hutter) priority. The photos showing a longer time (mostly 8 secs due to available light) are set for A, and those taken at shorter times are either manual set P or S. Some had aparent ISO setting forced to a faster speed. I'll have to check the metafile details to ascertain which settings were used.

Sure thing, come across for the festivities. http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif I can't vouch for the display that will be offered for the next NYE, but they have set too high a benchmark to fall too far behind. Should be another great display! http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif
