View Full Version : Film Speed

I know I've seen a few web pages that discuss photograpy and model trains, but I can't remember the URL's. Should've bookmarked em', maybe I did. Anyway, the question:
What is the best film speed to use for model railroad photography? I have a (500w)halogen worklight that I will be bouncing off the ceiling to improve lighting (I'm aware of the heat v. plastics issue). I'll be getting a second one soon to create shadow.

One of the best sites is Jean-Louis Simonetīs. The URL is
http://perso.club-internet.fr/simonet/Home_us.htm
In the menu there is a "Photo - something",
try that.

Sajay, also check out an earlier thread on lighting in this forum - http://www.trainboard.com/Forum15/HTML/000009.html
I have a URL link to a lighting tutorial there, and there is comment and a link to Jean-Louis' site as Helge posted above.

Thanks Helge, that's the one I was looking for. It's bookmarked now!
Thanks to you to Gats. I knew there was another topic about this a while back.
Up to now I've been using a digital camera, but it's getting more difficult to borrow it from work - it's quite popular. So I decided to dig out the ol' Pentax and see what I can do!
Thanks again!

I just checked out your photography pages, Paul, and the information is very helpful. Well worth a read for anyone wishing to take good pictures of model railroads. http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif
