release any more On30 rolling stock and engines? This size has seemed to become stagnant. I've been planning a layout in this scale and have 4 engines and many pieces of rolling stock from the initial releases, but haven't seen much new since the 0-4-0T engine.

Bachmann released a tank car to add to the freight cars offered. They added an 0-4-2 recently and will have a two truck Shay this fall. I understand it will negotiate 18" radius curves. With the Shay coming out, I wouldn't be surprised to see some logging cars added to the freight car selection.

I wish Bachmann would add a Mason Bogie and a Fourney to the mix.

Check some of the On2 1/2 (On30) web sites out there. I found somebody selling a kit (resin I think) to make a Forney out of a HO loco. I can't remember the site any more, so this isn't to much help. It should only take an evening or two of pocking around the web to find it if it's still there. I was looking at switching scales at the beginning of teh year so whoever was offering the kit should still be out there.

Check out www.trevinocircle.com/wtw.asp. (http://www.trevinocircle.com/wtw.asp.) There are some great pictures of some On30 stuff as well as great Sellios inspired HO layout. I think there are some links as well. Try to find the site for the On30 conspiracy guys. That's were I started when I ended up at the site for the Forney kit.

I'd love to hear some first hand accounts about the On30 stuff. Anybody who is getting into it let me know how you like it.

I'm really just getting started in 0n30.So far I don't have much more than a Bachmann passenger set ,a B-mann Porter 0-4-2 with a winter cab coming together (soon I hope I hate waiting).I am also scratchbuilding some locos.

This one is based on a Boulder Valley design but built on a KATO NW-2 mech.It is also a long ways from done. :(

John,

I have two sets of the Bachmann passenger trains. I also bought several freight cars. They run smooth and look great, IMHO. There are quite a few people into it, rivet counters need not apply. Bachmann has a good reputation for support on their On30 equipment and will sell parts and trucks separately. Peco's track is much better looking than the HO track supplied and has the O scale narrow gauge feel and look. I haven't looked into DCC yet, as far as fitting into the engine. There has been some nice kits offered to compliment the ready to run stuff. If you want some building kits, look at BTS's site for some laser cut building kits.

There are numerous others out there, but I have some of the BTS's kits and they are well done.

Greg,

Thanks for the quote. This is what On30 is all about, having fun.
