These are a couple of pictures I took a few years back out in the Barstow area. Just goes to prove that even the Super Fleet isn't bullet proof!

:eek: That unit in the top photo must have been out in the weather for a few minutes! I'll guess that's the original paint job. So, to get a feel for how well it's colors have lasted, how old is the engine?

Barstow? Wow... Actually...it looks like the cutting between apple valley and Victorville, about 25 mintues from barstow..... Big ass trains running through there! Nice to see Santa Fe keep a rigorous maintenance schedule.

Boxcab: I honestly have no idea.
Dis: If memory (and my file name for the picture) are right, it's actually out in the Cajon area. I believe the name of the town nearby was Summit (no points for originality).

I'm thinking its the same line! They run trains up through Apple Valley with 8-10 locos. 3 'real' ones and the rest are helpers. You;d hope the ones with the shabby paint are helpers, woudnt ya!
