Whilst visiting the Model Railway Show at Nottingham today, I was surprised and delighted to meet John Sing smile.gif He certainly does get around :D

We had a good chat and commandeered someone to take our photograph!

Ah. I didn't see either of you. Not surprising really - it was pretty full smile.gif .

I have a bunch of pics too, but it'll take a while to sort them out.

Sorry to have missed you Mike. Yes it was a well patronised show, and one which will be on my regular 'shows to visit' list. smile.gif

Hi, all,

I was very pleasantly surprised to meet Alan Curtis, as well.

I happened to be standing next to the Diesel and Electric Modellers booth, and heard someone say, "my name is Alan Curtis".

Aha! There he was, standing next to me. :)

Delightful chap - friendly, and most intelligent too.
I'd not realized Alan has been building custom model railroad locomotives and rolling stock for some time, reaching back to his O scale custom-building days.

For those of you who are wondering, I happened to be on a European business trip for my company, and had to spend the weekend somewhere.

Thx to several on this forum and others, who pointed at the annual Nottingham Model Railway Exhibition as a worthy activity - it was well worth the trip up from London.

And Alan, twas a honor to meet you. :)

Hi, all,

Just thought I would add a few shots here of the Nottingham Model Railway Exhibition on March 17, in Nottingham, UK. As Alan said to me, "what are the odds that we would run into each other?". Our model railroading hobby connects us all from across the globe (smile) .

BTW, there is a good recap thread on the Nottingham Model Railway Exhibition in
Nottingham, UK this past weekend 3/18, over at:

Met Alan Curtis of Alan Curtis Models (smile!) - delightful to meet and talk to:

Met some super guys from NMRA British Region, from left, Chris Hobbs (VP), me, Nobby Clarke (President):

Would never have met / connected these two if I'd not been member of NMRA. (as you might imagine, in UK,
NMRA members are interested in North American prototypes).

Thanks, again, *all*, who helped get me to Nottingham for the show.

T'was a thrill and a special event.
