Window glass?

When detailing an engine, and it doesn't have, or needs it's window glazing replaced, what is your favorite material to use? Perhaps to help stretch the hobby dollars, something salvaged from every day household use?

Glazing? Not sure I understand.

If you're talking about the glass itself, the testors glass cement/glass maker worked really well on my autos that I "tuned up" - you can see the glass on some of these

Boxcab, I save all the clear plastic bubble packaging you get with all most anything you buy now a days. I take out the purchased item and cut the biggest flat piece I can. I use it mostly in my scratch built building windows. graemlins/220.gif

What I have used is overhead transparency sheets. Heavy enough to cut and fit and cheap. One box will do many many, many windows. Set in with just a dab of "goo" or what ever glue that handy.

Overhead transparency is probably best for an economical fix. Evergreen plastic makes .005 inch clear styrene that can also be used. How about those pocket/paper protectors that you use in a notebook to protect pages frequently used?

Great ideas! I'm going to dig through a couple of drawers in my desk. See what's hidden in there. Should at least be a sheet protector or something.
