It is going to a long busy weekend. Tomorrow bright and early my daughter has her cheerleading competition. Tonight is their final run through and hair party. Sunday we have to go to the mall. The kids have to get their formal Christmas pictures and also visit Santa. Also the wife wants to visit Mitchell’s Hobbies. Last time we were there they were running a special: for every $50 you spend they give $10 in Mitchell’s Money. My father-in-law and my son were at the counter, my father-in-law bought my son a passenger car, and some very nice woman completed her transaction, turned around saw them, and gave them $30 in Mitchell’s Money she just earned. Things like always happen to the two of them. My wife says they have the cute and pathetic look down. My father-in-law then gave them to my wife to use.
On the modeling front I would like to do some more work on my son’s yet to be named diorama. I need to add additional rock faces and begin the hard shell. Once these things and done he can begin painting it. I received an Ebay winning in the mail the other day, a MDC Reading NE caboose. I would like to start assembling it. Also I need to look at the structure my son selected for his diorama and see what it needs. It is a Model Power built-up house.
So how about the rest of you? What are your plans?

Tomorrow I'll go to a module meeting in Stockholm. Sure going to be a fun day. Just have to remember to bring a booster and some hand controllers. If I can remember the camera (and get some good photos) I'll publish photos later. Don't think there will be any time to do some layout work at home.

Tomorrow is Photography Day. After a couple of weeks of down time, I'm hauling my N-scale layout outside to take advantage of some bright Arizona sunlight. My digital camera is old and has trouble indoors. Then I plan on uploading all new pix to my RailImages account. smile.gif

Club swap meet last night. Picked up assembled and weathered MDC coal hoppers 3 for 15 bucks and a brand new Undec. Athearn SD9 for 22. Wire broke on the layout so i haven't run anything lately.
Will probably resolder some wires.
Paint and assemble an SD9.
Re-Lay industrial siding.
Weathering and ballast for the siding.
Add weight to a few box cars.
Weather those.
Look for alphabet and numeral decal set for the locomotives.
Add a coulple Undec. DCC-equipped Atlas ALCO S-switchers to my wish list.
Find more things to do! smile.gif

Today decided to go wiht foam on light 1x4 frame and trying to find someone to build the frame for me. Might higher a carpenter.
For those who don't know I have a very small field of vision. Power tools and me are not a safe combination. smile.gif

Looking to play with powertools this weekend.
What I really need are a few more arms... one for the drill, one to hold the timber against the wall, and one for each spirit level used to ensure it's vertical and at the right height...
Need to get some new drill bits. Apparently someone put a concrete wall almost exactly 3" behind my gib-board, so while using 3" screws to hold things to the wall, I hit said concrete wall... Wonder what a masonry bit is worth?
So, building some shelves, moving all the junk that has crept into the "layout space"... ("I'll just put this here until the layout is finished, so it'll be out of the way")
Then I can start to really visualise my available space and maybe make a layout out of it.
Summer is coming, and I've got a few weeks off work over christmas; so I should start planning now to make the most of them. even if that just means tacking some track down on the new bookshelves and running some trains :D

Working this weekend, so I am reading back issues of train magazines. I already have an idea for a manual dpdt slide switch to fix my broken Peco code 55 turnout. Will be trying to draw somerthing for ideas.

I will probably be doing homeowkr all weekend as it's finals time for my school. But I will try to sneak some run time in just for relaxation.

1. Lay new roadbed on upper level.
2. Wire upper level blocks with reverse loop included.
3. If a miracle, and the wiring is correct first time out, lay the track with proper superelevation where desired and required.
4. Finish weathering bridges leading to upper level.

As for my weekend plans, it's more foam carving, filling, sanding, and if I'm lucky, some plaster cloth laying.

My plan was to finish 5 woodchip cars and paint and weather a NP F-3 AA set. It's late Sat. , but I'm half way home. http://www.railimages.com/albums/martycoil/agf.sized.jpg

Thanks man, Hmm, let's see,
Air Fare --------- 300,
Food for a week - 300
Total:--------------- 600
vs
1 Carpenter @ $75 an hour for 8 Hours - $600
If that includes a painted backdrop it would almost be cheaper to have you come out. smile.gif
Now the carpenter should only be $50 for 4 hours but this is Boston.
