Nope.. will be at the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium, Md. the following week. Will be going up early Saturday for the Saturday session.
Hope the two shows don't split up the vendor's too much. I already spoke w/ one vendor this morning that will not be @ Timonium because they said they would be @ Springfield the week before.

Bob,
If you'll come up, I promise to come down and see spring training with the Sox this year!
I'll be at the Big E!

Dave:
I lived up there for 30+ years. I know the weather in January.
We have the Cardinals and Marlins in Jupiter. I've had season spring training tickets to the Cardinals since Roger Dean Stadium opened in 1998.
The Sox play the Marlins for one game in March. I've seen all the games that the Sox played in Jupiter since 1998.
I'll be at the Plano Texas train show on the 14th of January. That's the closest I'll get to cold weather...

For the last couple of years I've concidered going since I am only 2 hours away. Because I only plan to be here on the east coast for a few years I really should take advantage of this oppertunity. Just happens I'm off that weekend so I'll have to see if I can make arrangements to attend. :D

graemlins/088.gif It's for shows like this that it would be cool to have a TRAINBOARD patch or pin or something so we could spot eachother in a crowd.

I will be there covering the anual Springfield Anouncments thread. This year I hope to have a photo modual and lighting to get better shots of the new tooling. For a few years, I have been with Ntrak but that keeps me from going anywhere else. So I'm not sure if i'll be part of Ntrak or not.
Anyone from the Northeast Prototype Modelers? I'd love to join that organization. Theu always have the best CR stuff around.

No guarantees, but I'll make an attempt to be there. Look for a chunky guy with glasses wearing a UP Steam Program hat (black w/red, white & blue atwork on the bill and a UP logo.).
Since I'm too far away to go to Plano this year, this is the only one I can get to. After living in a railroad-deficient environment for so long, it'll be great to get my railroad jones satisfied!

Looks like Sunday will be my day. If you see some long hair guy with a "Balou Line" t-shirt don't be afraid to tap me on the shoulder and say "Hi"!

John - I'm about 90 minutes away.
Oh well, I don't really have any money this year anyway. It would end up being a huge daylong druel fest for me.
Next year.

I won't be there but I had the chance, on the back end of a business trip, to go to the
Big E last year 2005. It was a super, super treat.
Any of you other folks out there in the
NorthEast US area wavering, wondering if it is worth it..... my suggestion (albeit from
a Californian) is that you won't be disappointed, you'll be really glad you went.
If you need a little more insight as to what you'll be signing up for, have a look at the
these photos taken at last year's Big E:

Enjoy! Wish I had a business trip that would allow me to be there. (smile)

Ah the "Big One" It is still my favorite train show next to Galesburg. When I lived in NH I would start saving my money in October. I would make the three hour trip from NH, through VT and into MA. Every night I would head down to Friendly's for a Tuna Melt. I haven't been back since 2002. I was hoping to get out there this year but I have a business trip in Vegas that weekend. I know its Vegas, but its a craft show  I would rather be "home" seeing all those nice B&M, Maine Central and D&H layouts :( Maybe next year if things work out here on the employment end.
