The January/February issue of Ztrack is now available. I thought I would share the cover photo from the issue:

The Rio Grande SD40T-2s are from AZL. The layout is Jeffrey White's. He has weathered and detailed the locomotives (notice the 'patch' on the lead unit). Jeffrey is a huge Western Railroad fan, modeling the era after the UP took over the Rio Grande.

Rob, does this mean you've either seen or talked to Jeffrey White in the past 2-3 months? He seems to have dropped off the face of the planet.
Nice photo... maybe one will have a glimpse of one of my bumpers on it... (that is, if they were taken after I installed them at NTS) :D

I like the Tunnels too. But what to do? An SP tunnel or some BN SD60M's? uh.. oh...
Well, I guess the SD60's win this round... Now if it were a U25C, U28C, or U30C, then that would be the winner.

Yikes, he nearly destroyed that lead unit with a patch of yellow... At least the original number still shows!
In all seriousness, that's a NICE photo! At least they aren't painted UP, that would be sacrilidge! graemlins/222.gif tongue.gif

Robert,
You don't have to worry. I think the tunnel motors have been sold out for quite some time. :-(

I have 2 AZL Tunnel Motors (Rio Grande) and this are great runners.
I also want a UP SD40T-2 but AZL only make 9 (I don't know why) and this are sold out fast. :(

Rob that really is a great cover shot. The more you look at it, the more you appreciate the detail in the picture. The track looks really weathered. The telephone poles have an aged look to them. And the trees have a forced perpective where the closer ones look more detailed and the ones further back are of the cotton ball variety. The balllast is very good, not overdone, and the ground cover is mixed throughout like real turf. The more I look the better it gets.

I agree, I love the photo. I am very disappointed though. Our printer went too dark on the actual cover of Ztrack. They made a mistake, and the photo looses some of the detail shown above. I made them aware I was not happy!
Yes, I talk to Jeff White. He is very busy at work, but still active!
As for tunnel motors, I think we may have an SP SD40T-2 still available.
