I have a question about Rivarossi and IHC Passenger cars. Can the interiors be interchanged between the two? Also has any one ever tried the lighting kits from walthers? Thanks for the help.

<font color="336633">[b]Im not sure about the lighting but wheel size will depend on if its a 6 axle or 4 axle.

I think that all passenger cars have 36 inch wheels in the real world. I may be wrong, if so let me know. I have never thought about there being different sizes between 4 and 6 wheel cars.

I have not purchased any of these cars for many years but I believe the older versions used a 31" wheel. I bought a bag of replacement wheelsets just for these cars from IHC. They are 31" wheelsets. I have tried to install 36" wheels but they are too large and the brake shoe detail on the truck frame does not allow for a proper fit.
Do the newer versions still have the oversize flanges?

These are all 4 wheel trucks Mixed Walthers IHC, Rivarossi with a con-cor observation thrown in. I thought 31'' was the right wheels but have to be sure as I'm going to the Monroe Washington Show April 31 and will be loading up on these to upgrade the Passenger trains I have.

The IHC and Riv cars used 31" wheels, but you can use standard freight 33" wheels without too much trouble. You may have to file a brake pad or two. With 36" wheels you might as well cut the brakes off. The interiors will fit with a little trimming required in some cases.

I have used IHC interiors in various mfg's cars. I had to trim them to fit but it worked OK. I put passengers in the seats and Walther's interior lights. The lights work fine as long as you get good contact with the axels. I used Tomar set ups. Not hard to do and they look good.

Thanks 2traxx, Its to expensive for me to light my 13-15 car EB and my 10-12 car CZ so I will just put interiors in them for now. I've found the IHC Interiors for 3.98 ea. Is there any cheaper?
