I do a little of both scales. The funny thing about switching is that you'll find things that were available in N scale may not be available in HO scale. You'd think they have everything in HO but they don't. Same goes the other way of course. smile.gif

Get yourself a Walthers HO catalog (even one out of date), grab a beer and enjoy. There is no comparison between HO and N when it comes to diversity and selection.
I am fond of saying... 'If it exists in real life it is probably available in HO!'

I can't decide between N and HO so I'm modelling both. The HO runs over my head in my office and I have a 8x4 N scale layout at home. smile.gif

Windle...when visiting your Rail Images site, I see you have some younger kids. Perhaps you'll find HO will offer more variety (Mickey Mouse-Harry Potter-Spider Man kinda stuff) that will appeal to children plus the cars, being larger, are easier to put on the tracks.
I temporarily switched to HO for these reasons when my son was younger. He's now 23 and still models HO...I went back to N a few years ago. Either way, spending time with the kids works in any scale.

The question is not what is avalable, the question is, What do you want to model?
