I am working a project for the NMRA Golden Spike award. I am in no hurry on this project because I want to do the best possible work that I can. I thought that I would share a pic of what I have do so far. I am not going to go overbaord with it like I would stationary layout. But i plan to adds lots of detail and make a great pleaser to the eye. ;) Please feel free to add any comments that you want. Or if you have done one of these before for the Golden Spike, please share your experiences with me to help me out. graemlins/headscratch.gif

Looks like you are in the right scale for them.
What kind of scenery have you planned? Spring, summer, winter?
Talking about it helps develop your ideas for details.

First it is in HO scale, I guess that must be mentioned as well. Well the exact season is still up in the air, it will probably be late spring or early summer. I am planning to model to industries, nothing specific. Then a block of city buildings. Then I want to fill it in with some right-of-way details and other small mics. scenes and scenery, trees, maybe a small hillside or what ever comes to mind. I will not have an interlocking tower due to the fact that it it based off operations of the past 10 yrs on a CTC section of railroad. So these are my thoughts of what I have tenativly planned out.
