:DI have been thinking of a possible new kitbash project of this locomotive. But not sure where to start, any ideas? I thought about using an F7 or similar but now not sure.

The F40PH or F45 would be a closer match.

Would make an impressive model, but what a heck of a scratchbuilding project

Hi

Did you get to do a kitbash of the ACE 3000 ?

Those noses don't like quite like anything else - not like an F45/FP45, not like an SD60M/SD70M, and not like a Canadian safety cab. The taper of the cabs as seen from above is the strangest part. Obviously, some Mountain mechanism is needed, but the driver spacing is unusually large. And I don't know where to get tender trucks like those...

You could use the F45/FP45 cab, but you'd have to do an awful lot of modifications to it (shortening the nose, angling in the sides, etc). The rest of the unit to the left looks like just raw styrene cut & shaped with additional details added all around.
