Public Service Announcement...

This month, The N Scale Architect will ship in N "and HO" scales, a kit of the PRR's ALTO Tower, which protected the west end of Altoona. Here's the info I received...

"We took some liberties with the standard Pennsy paint scheme on the¤pilot model to highlight some of the architectural details. This model is 'back-dated' prior to 'modernization' based Pennsy building practices from the 1880's and remnants of architectural features still present on this tower.¤ Recent photos for those modelers wishing to represent the modern era will be included with the instructions as well as a painting guide based on the standard Pennsy brown/beige scheme."

"The HO version will be available in two weeks and the N Scale version will be available by the end of November. The HO version retails for $89.95 (Model ATH002) and measures approximately 6"(l) x 4"(w) x 6"(h) while the N version retails for $69.95 (Model ATN001) and measures approximately 3"(l) x 2"(w) x 3"(h).¤ Web site should be updated in a few weeks.¤ In the meantime, feel free to share this information."¤

As you can see, the manufacturer won't have the photos and info on his web site for a few weeks. That said, I am taking the liberty of directing interested parties to the Merchandise Service eStore where you can view the photos (and reserve if you wish). The URL is
