This week, oi 'ave been mostly kitbashing yet another loco.

This time it's an EMD rebuilt P2K GP30. There wasn't much that needed doing apart from removing a few details and adding a few others to turn the model into a GP39E (the E is for EMD). the pictures sort of speak for themselves.

First the bashing-

Finally, a spell out on the road (test track), while I'm waiting for the paint to harden, so I can dullcoat it.

Now for another one before starting the layout to run it on.

Cool model! The BN GP39E is one of my favorite locomotives.

Thanks Doug.

You will like my next loco, then. It's another GP39E - this time from a GP35.

I like it, though I would prefer something numbered in the low 2200 series.

Excellent job, Jon. The white face scheme really shows off the distinctive shape of the GP30's. Don't weather it too much, as it looks good in it's new paint smile.gif

Excellent job, i'm impressed you got away with only doing a patch paint on it as well. Nice! smile.gif

Yep, that's a good'un! Nice work, Jon. as Martyn says, impressive paint patching!

Where did you get the info on the radiator fan mods, particularly the blanking plate?
I have a future project to do these in N and haven't much in the way of roof mod detail.

Maximum results with minimum effort- very nicely done! That is one sweet conversion! http://www.trainboard.com/tbsmiles/097.gif

Like the others, I can't wait to see the GP35 conversion..... :D

(and by minimum, I mean no major rebuild of the shell with every Cannon detail part in the catalog, etc.) smile.gif
