I hope that this post is acceptable in this forum.
I'm in a little bit of trouble -- I sent a bunch of DM&IR inventory to a guy to paint, renumber, etc. and the guy basically got 1/2 way done and had to stop working on my stuff.
He is going to ship my stuff back to me in it's current condition but I'm sort of fearing the worst.
I am a new modeler. I'm building a layout currently (http://www.boche.net/trains/) but my skills are nowhere near they need to be to start experimenting with my rare and hard to come by DM&IR equipment. In time I will strengthen my painting and decal'ing skills, but I'm just not there right now.
Basically what I need is to find someone with painting, decal'ing, and general modeling talent who can pick up where my guy left off. Because this transaction would essentially be taking place over the internet, it's somewhat of a risk to me so before I go sending my inventory to Joe Anybody via UPS, I would expect to see some references from you as well as some pictures of what you've accomplished. Hopefully you will understand and that's not expecting too much.
Here's what I'm looking at:
- 6 Lifelike SD9's that need re-numbering
- 4 centerflow hoppers that need re-numbering
Extra credit:
- 2 Lifelike SW9's that need to be painted in DM&IR paint and then decal'd properly. They already have the paint stripped. During the stripping process, the stock railings were trashed so they'd need new railings (brass I'd assume?)
- 1 Athearn SW1500 that needs a custom paint job with some details added
I already have all decals purchased and would supply them. I would pay for the rest of the materials cost of course such as extra detail parts and paint.
Do you know anyone who'd be interested in this project?
I pay very competitively but I don't expected to be blackmailed or subjected to extortion as far as costs go.
I'm also going to post this message at my Local Hobby Shop if they'll allow it in hopes of finding someone locally.
My email is jason@boche.net
Thank you very much,
