Well I finally got my GP39E and GP39V finished off, although I changed from a Bachmann Spetrum GP30 to a Proto 2000 GP30.

Here is some pics of them.

Really nice!

What shell/chassis did you use for the GP35 based unit?

Love the ex-hinose GP30 ones, that "hunchback" is ugly, but it makes an interesting looking loco! smile.gif

Thanks guys smile.gif

Well here is a bit of info on these 2 units.

The GP39V was built from a Railpower GP35 shell on a dummy Athearn GP35 chassis.

The cab, cab sub base, nose, inertal filter hatch, turbo exhaust, filter screens, radiator screens and electrical compartment doors are Cannon & Co parts, the fans are train station products ones, the GP35 has also got A-Line etched steps. there is a host of other detail parts added to both units.

It was really enjoyable doing these kitbashes, and I got plans to do some other ones soon, the BN had or aquired some unique and rare locos like the SD38P (rebuilt from SD35's) and TEBC-6 (slugs built from SD9's), these would make another intresting set......

only problem is I dont accually need these locos now as I model the 70's 80's era so in the new year I will be selling these locos on Ebay.

So the next major kitbash I do will most likely be a NW5 using a Kato NW2 shell and a proto 2000 GP7 chassis.
