This long weekend has definately been a productive one, I finally got these series of photos taken, uploaded, and posted onto my webspace.

First projet that has seen some progress it the crane that will ride behind my wheel and coupler car, a simple affair that only requires manpower, although I don't have the tolerances needed to makre this completely operational. But this is the first try, if I ever get motivated and learn how to make good tackle , I will rebuild it to take advantage of operating characteristics. It is entirly freelance, scratchbuilt, something entirely different. My camera does wonders on everything, it looks nice but not THAT nice!

The second project I have finally finished up for the most part is that little OO Airfix brakevan that I started on ages ago. I finally got the conversion finished, learned how to thin down my paint to a consistancy where I could brush paint the car and make it look decent. Basically, I converted the carriage.

The Hare Rabbit Railroad is currently in desperate need of a mineral strike, but for the moment timber and rock form the higher elevations is all the revenue available. The locals are quite happy due to the increased traffic, and are also some of the better customers at the moment. Due to these restrictions, the rail is still rough, the trains slow, and the yard light. For the moment, anything useful will pretty much hae to be turned out by the shops or loaned from the nearby ATSF.

As these cars fits into the railway, it needed addition braking on the higher grades, and this caboose being cheap a quick grab, made a perfect candidate for the purpose.

And the wheel car and crane, well lets just say the crews got tired of using just prybars and jacks on the constant derailments in this part of the country. Seems mother nature is more of an enemy then anything, the rock is crumbly on the surface, and the trees mostly scraggly and crippled looking except in some hard to reach places.
