My new Athearn C44-9W did not come with a plow. What kind of plow should I use

That all depends, Chessie......what railroad is it?? Plows vary from road to road.

Unit is Southern Pacific

I believe that Details West has a detailing kit for this critter.You may not want the whole kit,but all the parts are listed and it will tell you which plow is used.

Cool.....Espee is my favorite road, and you couldn't have picked a better C44-9W to get! http://www.trainboard.com/wink.gif Anyways, Details West 235-233 is the correct plow for SP Dash-9 units. And like the previous post said, you could get the Details West detail kit (235-230 for SP units, IIRC) if you want the plow and a bunch of other goodies, like traction motor cables, brake chain pulley, correct horn, etc. Hope this helps!

Thanks. I just don't think a unit that was built with a plow looks right without one.
