I was just cruising the Des Plaines Hobbies site. And it dawned upon me that I couldn't think of who supplied the cars for their custom runs? I want guess maybe it's AM?
Also, being somewhat graemlins/097.gif of a Milw fan, I was admiring their 70 hopper. And was curious about prototype fidelity?

The hopper is not an AM model. It was started by somebody else and Des Plaines Hobbies picked up the project and finished it. IIRC it was modeled after a Pennsy prototype. I do like the Milwaukee version though.

A nice looking car. Personally, I was leaning towards the D&RGW version myself. :D graemlins/LOL.gif

Yes. They are nice looking cars. I wonder how close to anything the Milw ever had?
What about the tank cars? By chance do you know the origin of those bodies?

While this isn't Milwaukee, it does look like the hopper being sold by Des Plaines Hobbies. It maybe a longer car though, since it has 16 ribs and the model only has 13.

Seems to me, I have a shot of a Milwaukee hopper that was sold and still had the original paint job. IIRC it was very similar to this one. If I find it, I'll post it.
