Hello folks!

It was about two years ago when in decided for my own to switch over from modelling German Railways to US H0.
I choose the Cleveland/OH area about 1940 - 1949. By the way it is a mytical Cleveland where i founded my own Shortline. It is the ET&N (East Terminal & Newburgh) which ist a synthesis of the real Newburg & Southshore, the River Terminal and parts of the B & O.

For this road i need mainly switchers and other typical power.
I decided to recycle a bargain of a about 50 year old Roundhouse 0-6-0.
The crude frame got details mainly cut and formed from brass und plastic rods. additional parts as brake shoes, brake cylinders, leaf springs, handrail and coupler levers.

The motor was replaced by a coreless Faulhaber with flywheel.

The boiler was then lowered about 3mm on the chassis. As you know on the old Roundhouse model there is nothing absolutely nothing inside of the cab, so i made a floor and boiler backhead from styrene parts cut and formed from styrene sheets.
The complete moulded on details were removed und replaced by a plumbing made of brass wire and tube. Doors were made of layers of white and clear styrene and fixed in open position. The lamps were made from a piece of aluminium tubing in which 3mm warm-white LEDs were inserted.

The tender was converted from oil to coal and gets also his details. A movable bridge closes the gap between loco and tender.

The current pick up is now from all wheels of loco and tender. The wipers are made of brass wire.

A ESU Lok-Pilot DCC decoder is installed and Kadee #58 mounted.

Decalling was by Microscale.

I like it. The lowered boiler gives it the look of an 1880s 0-6-0, which could certainly still be operating on a shortline in the 1940s. It must've been heavily modernized; the domes aren't 19th century. At least it has square steam chests.

What a good job you've done. I happen to have one of those switchers sitting in the "to do" closet and you've just given me a reason to bring it into the shop. Excellent, excellent, excellent!
